i'm no martha stewart, but..

over the weekend, I managed to make a knock off of CB2's pebble mat. :)

I purchased the rocks and a carpet square at the dollar store. I bought the glue at Home Depot. Total I spent around $14. Not too bad. :)

The rocks kind of fell in place like a child's puzzle. It was extremely easy to do. I used a few different versions of glue. One epoxy type set extremely quickly, so I had to rush to get the rocks in place. The other took hours before it actually set.

In "real life" the mat looks a lot darker in color. Closer to CB2's. (more like the color of the rocks above, in the bags.)

Be warned- this thing is heavy!!

spring cleaning

Folding my tee shirts into thirds and stacking them against one another has not only allowed more space, but now I can actually see what's what in my dresser. Why didn't I do this sooner??!!

It's really sad, I have no storage in my master bath. (not even a medicine cabinet) Enter a couple of Ikea shelves added above the toilet..... and now, I have a place to store towels. Oh the little things!! :)

& i forgot

I was having one of those.. "what am I going to wear tomorrow?" moments.  So, I decided to revisit some older pics for inspiration.  I totally forgot that I own more than 1/2 of the above.  Although it is fun to find a handbag or boots that I erased from my mind..I also realized I need to STOP hoarding.  My mission over the weekend is clear.. spring cleaning!  So..what do you have on tap for the weekend?

the uniform

Skinny jeans & baggie tops have been my staple this winter.

Loving small stud earrings with statement necklaces.

Thank god scarves aren't going anywhere because I have hundreds of them. Ok, that may be an exaggeration, but close ;) Have a Happy Sunday!!

Hair Files

No heat curls.. sign me up!!  Here is my attempt.

Step 1) roll approx. 1" sections of hair into a headband. Step 2) wait patiently.  Step 3) remove headband.

Ta-da!!

The results: Not too bad!  I'll definitely try it again.  For a full tutorial visit: http://thepapermama.com/2011/07/hair-tutorial-no-heat-curl-html.html
